No Time To Die will mark the final appearance of Daniel Craig as the classic character and fans have been looking forward to the new release for some time. Every James Bond fan knows this cocktail as the first martini that Bond ordered in Ian Fleming's 1953 book, Casino Royale (or the 2006 movie). Named after the seductive double agent Vesper Lynd, who tempted Bond, it's possibly the most famous drink order in history.

Just as the first James Bond novel centered around a casino, the first foray into film featured some of its most memorable moments in an exotic gambling venue. In Dr. No, the inaugural Bond movie, the character played by Sean Connery visits a classic, old-fashioned casino, where the people are glamorous, the scenery is luxurious, and the cocktails are flowing. Connery’s Bond enters the casino ostensibly for a game of Chemin de Fer, which is an old-school variation on baccarat. Watched by the character Sylvia Trench before eventually meeting her, this is the first scene where the eponymous character utters what will become his signature line. When asked for his name, the secret agent replies “Bond. James Bond”, thus setting off a tradition that will carry through the entire series of films. Not only did this film start the James Bond franchise it also started changing people’s opinions and thoughts on gambling, with many people now having a positive attitude towards playing casino games. It’s the best time to play casino games now more than ever with the boom of online casinos and the choice of providers and games available online. Some providers now offer a feature so you can get the experience and atmosphere of being in a live casino, much like the ones in the classic Bond films!
Casino Royale Official Trailer (2006) James Bond Movie HD
In Casino Royale (1967), a blatant spoof of a certain famous secret agent and his adventures, James Bond (David Niven) has retired from arduous work to live a comfortable life in a giant mansion. However, when the political powers of the world visit and ask him to come out of retirement in the face of a new threat, he proposes that they train up other spies to be as skilled as he is; in spying, drinking, card playing, and in responding to the many and varying needs of women. Casino Royale very loosely follows Ian Fleming’s book of the same name, where Bond must defeat the mysterious Le Chiffre (Orson Welles) at the elegant game of baccarat. Only this time, it’s completely ridiculous, and a slight trainwreck.
CASINO ROYALE - FIRST FULL TRAILER
When I mentioned to my James Bond obsessed partner that I was watching the 1967 version of Casino Royale for this blogathon, his immediate response was, “But it’s not canon!!!”. Indeed, this Casino Royale is not technically a part of the Bond movie franchise, as it wasn’t made by Eon Productions. However, it does form an essential part of the Bond universe, and I’m sure that most hardcore Bond fans would have watched it at some point in time. The problem, though, is that it’s just not that great. The film is exceedingly silly, with a strange, very British sense of humour – lots of dryly clever jokes coupled with slapstick and puns. I would compare it to Monty Python, but Monty Python is much funnier.
